Join us either on Zoom or in person as we gather once again as community for this annual event as we remember and honor the trans/nonbinary lives lost to anti-transgender violence and suicide. This year, it is more important than ever, given the times we are in – to gather in support and solidarity. Fellowship to follow. Seating is limited, please plan to come early.
The Transgender Day of Remembrance serves to raise public awareness of the hate crimes against transgender people and the suicidality that such hate creates. This event publicly mourns and honors the lives of those we lost who might otherwise be forgotten. This year, it is more important than ever that we (those who are and are not transgender) stand stronger together and in solidarity as community – given the rising political, social, medical, and religious animus and harm.
We gather to remember the lives lost, We stand together in solidarity and love, We hold RADICAL HOPE as we demand change for basic human dignity and to end the violence (verbal, legislative, and physical).
“Hope is essential to any political struggle for radical change when the overall social climate promotes disillusionment and despair.” – bell hooks, from Talking about a Revolution
